This might work if we got the money up front but we hardly ever do.
Sometimes it takes longer then 90 days to collect.

Of course we all know that the customers will be eager to return a
product they didn't have to pay for and really like using.
The advantage of the VTX SWLOAN is that it makes it easier to order a
loaner license. Since the loan license has all the advantages of a regular
license including phone support, having the license "blow up" after the
alloted time frame is beneficial all around, meaning no one has to track,
send, take back a license. The other biggie is revenue generation. Try
it, like it , buy it, and keep buying the services that go with it.

Digital's Software Loan Program
_______________________________
Effective October 4th (Q2 FY94) Digital's policies governing the Software
Loan Program have been enhanced to increase simplicity for our customers and
field personnel.
The key elements of the software loan program are:
* Except as noted below, all Digital licensed software products will offer
Software Loans.
* Software loans will be available for 30 day, 60 day, and 90 day durations
only.
(Note: Software Loan exceptions include; products with contracts or royalty
obligations that prohibit loans from being offered, ITAR controller
products, source code, and products using the Software Replication License.)
All loan licenses for durations longer than 90 days will be moved into
maintenance on the price file 10/4/93, and deleted on 1/3/94.
The price file is currently being populated with loan part numbers for
software products which do not have loans available. Products with contract
or royalty obligations are being verified with product management prior to
loan part numbers being added. If your software product should NOT be loaned,
and you have not been contacted, please contact Denise Carroll at SKYE::CARROLL
or DTN 381-0482 by 7/30/93 or your product will be populated for loans for the
following loan durations: 30, 60 and 90 days.
A Business Practice Standard for Software Loans will be available at
implementation on October 4th. If you have further questions contact Susan
Mill at MRKTNG::MILL.
