	RE: .1 Sure it will (one hopes) mean the income numbers look better
	but that may very well be offset by the fact that expense numbers will
	be higher as well.

I didn't understand this until I looked at the fiscal calendar in the most 
recent phone book.  How is it that a week (May 23-29) in which there are *no*
days of a month (June) can be a part of it? 

Is this an accounting ruse which needs no correlation with reality?  :-)

(calendar) year, that is, assuming we manage to survive
this calendar year.

    The situation your described about May 23-29 in Fiscal June is 
    consistent with the last weeks of July, August, October, November, 
    January, February and April being in the following fiscal months.

    	This FY'93 started on June 28th and it contained three (3) days
        June 28, 29 and 30 that were part of June (last month of FY'92).
    
    	This FY'93 will end with three (3) days July 1, 2 and 3 that are

    	Next FY'94 starts on July 4th and ends on July 2nd.
    
    	I guess every now and then we will have a 53 week FY, however we
        will not have a 51 week FY ever.

well, 52*7 = 364, which is one day short (not taking leap year into account)

so maybe it's every 7th year with an occasional extra one thrown in to
cover the leap years (or maybe a 7 week June every once in a great while)

    The last time we had an FY with 53 weeks was FY88. The next is FY1999.
    Then FY2003, FY2010, FY2016, FY2021, FY2027, FY2032...

	My investigations concerning the divisibility of 365 by 52 have,
	in fact, yielded results that will no doubt perplex the DEC accounting
	department for years to come.  For users of OpenVMS, try this simple
	experiment yourselves.

	Construct the following DCL command file using the text editor of
	your choice:

		$ SET VERIFY
		$ X = 365/52
		$ SHOW SYMBOL X
		$ EXIT

	Now execute the command file: 

		$ X = 365/52
		$ SHOW SYMBOL X
		  X = 7   Hex = 00000007  Octal = 00000000007
		$ EXIT

	I agree with .3 - the mathematical assumptions made by .2 were
	indeed incorrect!

    Per the corporate bylaws, Article 6, Section 1, the fiscal year ends 
    on the Saturday closest to June 30.
    
    The first 3 quarters are made up of months with 4,4, and 5 weeks, the
    last quarter is either 4,4, and 5 or 4,4, and 6.
