2434.0. "Fax solutions?" by AIMHI::OLSON () Fri Mar 26 1993 17:22

Hello,

I'm not sure where else to pose this question, so I thought I would do it here.

The group I am in is trying to implement a 1-800 line fax service for
customers. This service will allow us to send literature via the fax instead of
mailing. I am curious if any other groups in Digital have provided this type of
solution, or are in the process of developing this type of application.

I am already aware of the 1-800 Alpha line thats available.

Our group is still in the process of deciding on the best solution and any
comments regarding this subject would be greatly appreciated and welcome!

Please send mail to AIMHI::Olson or post responses as replies

Thankyou very much!!

    You could also ring 1-800-fax-back. This is a package that many
    companies use (including Digital). It is a very impressive service. I
    think that the company is a subsidiary of Intel.

2434.3BE aware...VFOVAX::OUTMANMon Mar 29 1993 09:5510
	BE aware, I read a couple of years ago that a company had
	Patented this FAX back function. I can't recall tha company
	It was in an Article in the EMS Newsletter.

	The article stated that the company was going to be very
	agressive in proceeding with litigation against any
	company that infringed on it's patent. The company planned
	on making gads of money licensing this type of product.
