    ... but don't look for the CNOTES:: shadow at the moment; Wendy's

    Mortal is down at the moment because I ran into a problem with the
    mixed architecture cluster that it is a member of. At around 7 tonight
    I got too hungry for dinner and left it to fix in the morning. Should
    be back online then (tuesday morning).

    Got a burst of energy after dinner and went back into the office to fix
    the cluster. MORTAL is back up and available.

    I'm not sure about CNOTES, it hasn't been available for a while, but
    I'll check what the real story is.

The DIGITAL shadow conferences are read-only copies of the real DIGITAL
conference. They are updated every few hours using PAN. For people who are
read-only or read-mostly, they provide much quicker access than HUMANE::DIGITAL.

    MORTAL is responding with a "FILE NOT FOUND".

    Works fine for me and apparently several others who are connected. Been
    up and running all day too. What does your file spec look like?

    Works for me - indeed, MORTAL is how I usually read DIGITAL.

Re -1

Well, I'm using MORTAL::SHADOWED_DIGITAL as the filespec, and it ain't working
(File Not Found). I presume the error message means I'm getting to MORTAL,
but can't find the conference. What am I doing wrong?

	It's at MORTAL::DIGITAL.

    I had to put MORTAL::NOTES$LIBRARY:DIGITAL to resolve the file not
    found error.

Thanks.  That works just fine.

2416.18BEAVIS & BUTHED ProblemsRT128::BATESNAS-ty BoyTue Nov 02 1993 10:3219

    The MORTAL shadow copy of this conference has not been able to run the
    update to keep it in synch with the HUMANE master copy since about 11am
    yesterday.

    This is due to hardware problems on BUTHED - which is the VAX that the
    synchronization procedure runs on. BEAVIS is still available which is
    why conference participants are still able to access the conference.
    BEAVIS however is a DEC 4000-610 AXP and as such is not capable of
    running the PAN update/synchronization procedure.

    We hope to have field service fix BUTHED and be back online shortly. I
    will post an announcement here once the shadow copy on MORTAL is back
    and running.
