2354.0. "Why do 2352.0 and 2353.0 have no text?" by AIMHI::BARRY () Tue Feb 02 1993 15:42

    Pardon my ignorance. Why are thwe first note of 2352 and 2353 missing?
    How could they have replies?

2354.1You can enter any note with no text, and I do it myself ...YUPPIE::COLEFollow your elected leadership .... Baaaaaaaaaaa!Tue Feb 02 1993 16:122
	... occasionally when my reply will fit in the TITLE field. I don't
how 2352 got entered with no author, however.
2354.2Here's the scoop...ROWLET::AINSLEYLess than 150 kts. is TOO slow!Tue Feb 02 1993 16:368
The author of 2352 said he would delete his note when he got his answer as to
where the marketing conference was. Since he appears to have done just that,
I've deleted the entire topic.

The author of 2353 appears to be a new noter and his .1 reply should really be
his .0

2354.3I've also modified the title of this topic to be more meaningfulROWLET::AINSLEYLess than 150 kts. is TOO slow!Tue Feb 02 1993 16:380
2354.4Marketing note no longer at NODEMOPATE::MCGRATHWed Feb 03 1993 09:315
    I've been wondering where the marketing note went also. Could you
    repost where it is now located.
    Thanks

2354.5Pointer to conferencesROWLET::AINSLEYLess than 150 kts. is TOO slow!Wed Feb 03 1993 09:5511
It's at ASIMOV::MARKETING.

There is a conference dedicated to pointers to conferences. It is
TURRIS::EASYNET_CONFERENCES. (KP7 or Select to add it to your notebook).

You can also copy a file containing a list of conferences from
ANCHOR""::NET$LIBRARY:EASYNOTES.LIS.

Please do NOT ask about conferences in this conference.

2354.6Also try VTX EASYNOTES...SSDEVO::MERTZWed Feb 03 1993 11:528
After a week or so of not being able to reach NODEMO::MARKETING, I looked it up
in VTX EASYNOTES to see if it had moved. The entry didn't reflect the change
to ASIMOV, though it does list the mail address of the moderator. A quick mail
message to Steve (QUARK::) Lionel and I had the new location...

2354.7Sorry I askedSHARE::MCGRATHFri Feb 05 1993 13:426
    Yes, indeed I do have the latest copy of easynotes.lis;421 and the
    marketing note is listed as being on NODEMO, which is incorrect. If your
    going to chastise a user for not looking up the info in the appropriate
    data base, please make sure the database is correct.

    re: .7

    Joel,
    You indicate you have the latest easynotes.lis. Please note that
    the list is the SECOND reference in reply .5 - not the only reference.
    Easynotes.lis exists as an entry (2.0)in the EASYNET_CONFERENCES notesfiles.
    The number at the end of the MARKETING entry - 820 - is the reply in
    EASYNET_CONFERENCES discussing the MARKETING conference.

    A check of that entry shows that NODEMO is indeed correct as a node, as
    is ASIMOV. They're both nodes on the same cluster. More importantly
    they have been having access problems lately. No conference moves that
    were unannounced, just problems.

    You titled .7 "-< Sorry I asked >-".... I don't see where you need to
    be sorry for asking. I hope this rathole provides someone with a clue
    as to how to find information on notes conferences, besides asking in
    this conference.

    I know that I don't intend this to "...chastise..." and I don't think
    Bob A. entered in that vein either. It's possible that upon reflection
    you may feel awkward about what you said in reply .7, since it's based
    upon hastly conclusions and not factual in content. You were quite
    politely pointed to the correct resources. You didn't follow through.
    It shows.
