2353.5 | Home/Business Phone Lines | MSDOA::JENNINGS | | Thu Feb 11 1993 18:12 | 5 |
| Haven't heard anything about company cars, but the Field Engineers
in the Carolinas District are up in arms over being told they have
to give up their home/business phone lines. From the way they're
talking, it'll cost DEC a lot more than $19./month in extra costs
and customer satisfaction...

2353.6 | Clarification of .1 | MSDOA::JENNINGS | | Thu Feb 11 1993 18:16 | 5 |
| I should have clarified .1 further. These F.E.'s all work out of their
homes... They gave up their office cubes months ago and agreed to
work from home. Now DEC is basically telling them to use their
personal phones when they're on standby or have to call the Remote
Diagnostic Center, etc., etc..

| re: .6, Jennings
Let me see if I understand this -
F.E.'s who have surrendered their offices in DEC facilities (one would
guess, as a business decision in DEC's best interests) are now being asked
to shoulder some of the expense of doing business from their own homes?
Is this correct? Can we get some more details? Which brilliant VP can
we promote and reward for this braindead move?

2353.9 | Wheres the Beef ? | KAOS::TURRO | Make it so number 1 | Sun Mar 07 1993 21:10 | 11 |
| I hate to ask but whats the problem ? Im in the field with one phone
at home I still have an office to come to( no cubicle though) and have
a DEC issued MCI card for long distance calls . Any calls to dispatch
are 800 numbers so are dialins to CHAMP so whats the problem ?
Im not being sarcastic but doesn't this cover all the scenarios you
could possibly have.
