2330.0. "Hudson plant tours." by CADCTL::BRAUCHER () Fri Jan 15 1993 15:10

      Does anybody know who to contact in order to discuss plant tours
    at the Hudson semiconductor facility ? I remember seeing something
    about them a while ago, but can't remember where.

      Thank you in advance, if anybody knows.

  There are really two questions here: HLO tours for DECcies and HLO tours for
non-DECcies who are simply curious (not customers, suppliers, etc.).
  I too would like to know if tours are available for DECcies. I realize that
a DECcie can sort of take a self-guided tour, but you really need a guide to
tell you what's going on.
  The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) runs a tour
about once a year. There may be a few other organizations that occasionally
run tours for non-DECcies.
  I went on the IEEE tour last year. It's not like the old days when you could
look thru large windows and see most of the process. Now most of the process
is hidden from view, and you just catch fleeting glimpses of it here and there.
What we really need is a good video that explains the process in layman's
language. The way HLO is set up now, you need both a video and a tour to under-
stand the process.
