                        Senior Leadership Team announced 
  
      (Following is a memo from President and CEO Bob Palmer naming his 
      new Senior Leadership Team.)
  
  With the changes we have made recently, and those that we will be making in 
  the weeks ahead, I believe it is time to create the forum where the new 
  leadership team can deal with the critical strategic and operational 
  decisions we must make on an ongoing and integrated basis. 
  
  Specifically, I am consolidating the activities of the Strategy Committee, 
  our Operational Reviews, and the Executive Committee and replacing them with
  what I will call the Senior Leadership Team.  I am asking the following 
  people to join me on this team:

  As new managers come on board leading the Personal Computer and Consumer and
  Process Business Units, we will be adding them to the team.  I have asked 
  Terry Fink to assume the role of secretary for this team and coordinate 
  work, agendas, and calendars.
  
  I realize this is a large group.  After we have some experience at decision 
  making with this team, I expect we will perhaps need a different structure 
  -- but we must be certain that any other forums truly add value.  I am 
  asking the Investment Review Committee to continue with its task as a 
  working subcommittee of the Senior Leadership Team.  This change is 
  effective immediately.
