I was the author of .0 and have deleted it. Please do not post extracts
of it.  Thanks.

(My deleting is voluntary and is not related to the noteheader, in case there
 is anyone out there more paranoid than myself :-).

    Too late, I already did! But, I still don't understand... is it a
    museum or a church?

    We have a place out here called the Rosicrutian (sp) Museum, has real
    mummies, shrunken heads, etc... And well it is also a temple for those
    who wish to practice Rosicrutian rites.

2296.8Motto: Have a witch'n good timeCARAFE::GOLDSTEINGlobal Village IdiotMon Dec 28 1992 17:4616
    It's a museum.

    Salem has a whole tourist industry devoted to the events of 1692. The
    Witch Museum, the Witch House, etc. The police cars have a "witch on a
    broom" town seal on them.

    The city also is said to be home to 2000 members of the Church of
    Wicca, a venerable order whose name was perverted by English oppressors
    into the current "witch", and given unduly negative connotations. They
    gathered there more recently than 1692. The events of 1692 were really
    in Salem Village, which renamed itself Danvers; Salem (city) took the
    opposite approach and cashed in.

    BTW, I think you can delete a topic note (with no replies) by using
    "delete" twice. That would have avoided this rathole. And I do wonder
    what it orginally said.
2296.9A wild-[expletive deleted] guessSTAR::DZIEDZICTue Dec 29 1992 08:364
    I'll take a guess: was the original base note related to the
    Livewire article about employees being terminated for using
    the Digital Enet to transmit "pornography"? (No kidding; take
    a look at Livewire.)
