| John,
I always appreciated that someone from Personnel was willing to stand
up in this conference and address our concerns as directly and
thoroughly as possible. I'm sure others feel the same way - you
will be missed...

It appears you are leaving DEC the way you served DEC, with class
and sincerity.
May you find an employer to value these qualities.
Best wishes,

John,
It always felt strange (wonderfully strange) to have a personnel
professional actually engaging in the corporate dialogue and being
part of the solution. I guess the bureaudroids finally caught up
with you, and it's back to business as usual.
Happy trails.

I know I speak for MANY here when I say that I hope that SOMEONE who
follows you from your group keeps up your tradition of forthright
membership in this very important notesfile. It has meant a lot to me
(and I'm sure others) that you've noted so helpfully here.
I give you my permission to forward this note to your Management.
Vaya con Dios.

| John,
Good luck to you from the boys in Atlanta...Vern Towle and Paul
Bilodeau. We both worked with you on occasion in NIO...in the good
'ole days of the TELCO group and manufacturing. That's when you could
see the results of your labors, as a 3-system LMOS 11/70 went to the
docks!!
I'm sure we're not far behind you either!!

| John,
As a former personnel colleague of yours I need to say that you will be
missed. You contributed a great deal to the personnel function in
Digital. I know I learned a lot working with you in NIO.
I wish you the best luck in your job search. Your next employer will
be lucky to have you.
You take care,
Karen Shor

| John,
I was saddened to see your name among the leaving...
I only hope when it's my time to go, I will be able
to leave as gracefully as yourself.
There is life after DEC - some even find it
WONDERFUL! You seem to be headed down the right path.
Keep your head high as you always have.
Another NIO buddy.....says a sad good-bye.

John,
Great note! Sad times.....It's going to be hard not being able
to drop you mail message when needed....It's tough saying goodbye to my
first W/C but I'm sure I'll see you on the outside....
Maybe it's time for us to finally team up writing those
children's books we talked of long ago....

| John,
I'm very sorry to see you go. Earlier this year it "felt" as though
you and I were adversaries on the subject of Core Management, Inc.;
but I do appreciate all your efforts to get to the bottom of things,
verifying that I did more than gripe about the situation and promised
that I would hear personally from DEC's liason with CMI. In fact I
heard directly from CMI.....I was pleased when my HR person showed me
the changes made to how disability would be handled in the future.
I know this couldn't have happened without your intervention; I
really appreciated your weekly follow-up by E-mail to make sure I was
contacted by the people who could implement the change. I think I
got the chance to thank you by mail; I'm sorry I never got around to
calling you and thanking you personally.
