2199.0. "Things are slipping thru the cracks." by MAIL::LANGSTON (Notes @night) Wed Nov 04 1992 23:46

In the field, we have two systems which deal with work-time. These are
PAYROLL (timecards) and the CHAMP system. Up til now we have record our
time in CHAMP and on our time cards as follows; The paycheck received
on November 12th covered the days of Friday Oct 30 thru Thursday Nov 5.
We just got word that CHAMP is changing to reflect time on a Sunday
through Saturday period, effective W/E 11/14/92 and that paychecks
should do the same.
I have a 50% - 50% consensus from Personnel, Regional Staff, Operations
and higher level line management as to whether we need to pay the
customer service engineers for 5 days or 6 days come Nov 12th.
As you can see, changing our pattern causes a FRIDAY to be skipped.
Anybody got any real facts/direction on this? Guess what? If we don't
get some leadership, there will be several thousand engineers (mine
included) who will get 48 hours of pay and several thousand engineers
who will only get 40 hours of pay for the same week.
These individuals talk to each other! The discrepency is likely to be
noticed.

I'm at least 50% convinced you are correct but maybe you should
ask in the BRAIN_BOGGLERS conferance at ROBTOB""::BRAIN_BOGGLERS.
