With the publication of the Q1 results next month, I'd expect to
see the first realistic count of downsizing since Q4. I doubt we'll
see numbers accumulated from other sources before then.

Last count I heard was 103,000 and dropping pretty darn fast! :^)

| A friend saw a restricted memo stating we have downsized 13,000 people
in this quarter only, so far, with several thousand more to go before
Q2. If so, it's being done VERY quietly. From what I hear and see
(in these files, as elsewhere) there is evidence to support that rate
of decline of the population. In particular, notice seems to be
standardizing at about 1 week for those affected. H-m-m-m!

| today's boston globe says 113,000 and by fy 94 100,000, dec's
lowest population (100k) in five years. no, wait, everytime
i see anything written about the dec population the word
"approximatly" precedes it. i guess nobody really knows...

| According to LIVEWIRE this morning, annoucing the Q1 Results
(which were again showing a loss) the Company has
"Approximately 108,500 worldwide employees"
