| re .1--you also should read/check...nothing was said about selling! 8^)
Talk to your PSA about purchasing to see if there is a program. There
was for the SERPer's, but I haven't heard of one for TFSOer's.
Good luck in your future.

Pmax ? That's a 3100 isn't it ? $200.00 is a hell of a deal
for a stand-alone VS3100.

Would I be wrong in assuming that $200.00 for a UNIX machine like
a DS3100 would still be a deal ?

2074.12 | I'd love to buy my VAXstations 3100! | SKNNER::SKINNER | I'm doing my EARS | Fri Aug 28 1992 14:44 | 20 |
| Turning back to seriousness for a minute...
RE: .3
So by "quitter" you mean someone that SERPed, or someone that was downsized?
We are being told that all we can buy are OLD computers: Rainbows, DECmates,
etc., NOT workstations / VAXes: VS2000, VS3100, VAXserver 3100. We're just
looking to buy what we currently have at our desks. Since we're effectively
closing this facility, all this equipment would have to be packed up and sent
to surplus otherwise.
If ANYONE knows of any "rule" or ruling that says a downsized "employee" can
buy VAXstations or DECstations please let me know so that I can pass it on to
our downsizing specialists.
If I have to take the equipment home on a property pass to be eligable I can
look into arranging that.

| Who is telling you want you can buy?? Personnel, management or the TFSO
info sheet?
|
2074.14 | we're trying to get straight answers, they just haven't been stated | SKNNER::SKINNER | I'm doing my EARS | Fri Aug 28 1992 15:40 | 13 |
| RE: .13
The info sheet with the "package" is what the local managers are using to
determine what we can buy.
Some examples: we were informed that we could NOT buy LN03Rs, but we haven't
been told if we can buy DF224 (built in 1987). "OLDER IN SERIES" is I believe
what the sheet says about modems. I say the Scholar Plus (DF224) is "OLDER"
but we still don't know the "official" ruling.
Also, does the equipment have to have $0 balance, or just "low" balance?

2074.15 | SERP or TFSO for equipment purchase ? | NEURON::STAHLY | 10$: BRB 10$ | Fri Aug 28 1992 18:07 | 6 |

Is this purchase of equipment allowed for TFSO packages or
is(read was) it limited to SERP ?

2074.16 | From what I've seen.. | MKFSA::WENTWORTH | | Mon Aug 31 1992 18:15 | 5 |
| Check with VTX WASTE. Same program for SERP, TSFO, and Engineers to
Education.
Nothing newer than VAXmate PC500 or DECstation 2XX, older printers
(including older LN03 not + or R). older modems, and VT1XX/VT2XX
terminals. NO lap tops.
