Quarterly reports are typically black print on white paper; they only
use colors like red, green, blue, and purple in the annual report. 8^o>

According to the Nightly Business Report, Smith Barney downgraded us
from a "neutral" to a "void", and changed our predicted loss from 80 cents
per share to $1.75 per share. That is what allegedly caused our 2 1/4 point
drop in one day last week.

You can read the report itself in SUBWAY::DIGITAL_INVESTING. That's
the conference that discusses Digital stock and Digital-related
investing issues.

I think that's to "avoid". Point well made, though.

| OK, you opportunistic barracudas :-), it was AVOID. Anyway, it was
not a good development.

1832.6 | avoid ovoid object; leaves a void | VISUAL::BMACDONALD | | Wed Apr 01 1992 16:46 | 8 |
| Perhaps it was OVOID as in "DEC is about to lay an OVOID object with
it's upcoming Q3 report." Thus, since Wall Street hates ovoid objects
in company finacials, the Journal could be imagined to report "A VOID"
as a diplomatic way of saying " sell out immediately all you fools who
have any of this stock!" What I say is "avoid the ovoid, it'll leave
a void in your portfolio." I know, I know, this note is about investing
not terrible puns. Forgive me.

I don't know what .6 intended, but I will say that based on the
fact that over a hundred forecasted 6xxx systems were never
confirmed for shipment, there was a serious shortfall in that
part of the business at any rate.

Maybe it was not VOID or AVOID or OVOID, but in actuality it was NOID.
So what they were really saying was "AVOID the NOID"!!!
(sorry, but the punster strikes again, hah hah hah hah!!!)
