1679.0. "International Engineering Development Group - Where did you go?" by DELNI::SIMEONE () Fri Nov 22 1991 14:21

I keep receiving calls looking for the International Engineering
Development Group. The phone book lists my number and I am not
in this group. I've checked all over LKG (where they are suppose
to be) and can't find any reference to them.

Could someone from this group PLEASE send me mail at Delni::Simeone
and tell me the correct number and location for this group so I can direct
    people in the right place.

    thanks,
    Allan

From VTX GUIDE:

International Systems Engineering (ISE) is formed by the integration of the
former groups, International Engineering Development, (IED), and Asian Base
Systems Software, ABSS. (See 1989-1990 Edition, Pages 137 and 77).

ISE is a distributed worldwide organization with people in Reading,
Valbonne, Tel Aviv, Geneva, Frankfurt, Nashua, Littleton, Hong Kong,
  Taipei, Seoul, Bangkok, and Yokahama.

Jim Mills, the group's manager, is based in Spitbrook Road reporting to
David Stone, Vice President of the Software Product Business Unit.

To raise any internationalization matter, you can contact the group via a
"hot-line" on DELNI::IED_US, or via telephone on DTN 226-5740.

    re: -1

nope, got word that 226-5740 is no longer in service. The phone just
keeps ringing and that is one of the numbers listed in the book.

With help from mail I've recieved, this group appears to be in two
buildings, ZKO and AKO. This group was also in Littleton (LKG) but
appears that they no longer are here. I would post the number which was
given to me,but until it is confirmed, I do not want to give out numbers.

If it is correct, I will call the appropriate people to make sure the
number is changed for the next telephone directory and so on.....

thanx to those that have sent me mail.

oh and delni::ied_us. That account is forwarded to CUERVO::IED_US
which seems to be located in MKO!

Is someone actually trying to keep that up-to-date? Last time i checked, it
seemed to be another of the many VTX infobases that are stale by >6 months.

1679.7VTX GUIDE -- We're trying...JOKUR::JOKUR::LITCHFIELDMon Nov 25 1991 12:2810
    RE: .5, VTX GUIDE

That information can only be kept current if people keep providing us
    with the most updated information.

Right now, we're reorganizing the application based on Digital's new
structure -- PCUs, ABUs, etc. And, we're trying to get a commitment from
people to keep their group's information current.

With groups in Digital changing so often, it's quite a feat to keep up!

I'll be sorry I read this note, because I know where the calls will go
to now. People have been calling Jim Mills and he sends them my way.

re .0: IED does not exist anymore, as noted in .1. All such calls
    should be redirected to ISE.

re .2: DELNI::IED_US and CUERVO::IED_US have been superseded. The
current mail address is I18N::HOTLINE (in ZKO, but forwarded to the
group secretary in AKO). There is no hotline telephone number. I'd be
tempted to just take the number out of the phone directory, but I know
the right thing to do is to change the directory listing, the existence
of which I wasn't aware of until now.

re .1: I don't know who provided that information about a year and a
half ago. But things have changed. At this juncture it's probably not
relevant to mention IED and ABSS anymore. The list of ISE sites is
now: Acton, Bangkok, Frankfurt, Geneva, Hong Kong, Nashua, Reading,
Seattle (Bellevue), Stockholm, Taipei, Tel Aviv (Herzelia), Valbonne
    (Sophia Antipolis), and Yokohama.

As Jim Wade mentioned in .6, ISE is currently managed by Claude
Pesquet, who is located in Acton. But you might as well contact me
    directly.
