1631.1 | Join a PC group ? | CSOA1::CONNER | Welcome to the jungle | Fri Oct 11 1991 10:45 | 11 |
| .-1> Can anybody tell me who and where the PC groups are in DEC? The ones
.-1> who would be a beta sight, and the ones who would be knowledgeable
.-1> about the latest versions about M.S. Word for Windows?
Gregg,
Try note 1616 for starters. I'm not very PC so I can't help you much
further, except to ask if you really want to join a PC group ?!?!?

| Mike,
I see the smiley face, but I am serious, and my request has nothing to
do with "political correctness". It has to do with Personal Computers
of the IBM variety, and a product called Word for windows.

| We are in LJO1, LJO2 AND LTN...didn't move just grown considerably. It
is not at all embarrassing to be associated with PC products at DEC today.
We are actually one area of the company that continually beats
forcasts, grows continuously and is making money...and industry
analysts are starting to notice us....
...in answer to your question...the various PC groups (there are 3
within PCSG) host a series of notes files. The DECpc hardware group
hosts RANGER::DECSTATION. The PAthworks groups hosts a couple... I
believe that one is RANGER::PCSAV2...there are others ..there is
a portable notes file on RANGER, as well ...and if your looking to the
future...take a peek at PENCOMPUTING on RANGER...there is also a a
CLONES notesfile and an IBMPC notes file...check EASYNOTES for exact
location since I don't remember anymore...

Has anyone thought about the PATHWORKS support group in the Atlanta
Support Center. There is also a DESKTOP group there that supports
Novell, Banyan, Token Ring etc.
If you are a DEC internal, call 1-800-332-8000 and log a call...
