He was not a corp. cons. eng. He was a Senior Corporate Consultant
with no engineer in the title (I don't know why because he is a good
one). Anyway, he was my manager for 11 years - I hope I know who he
was!

1621.3 | Except for Mike Riggle, the 1990 list is the same as .0 | VMSZOO::ECKERT | Waltzing to a rock 'n' roll song | Thu Oct 03 1991 05:02 | 12 |
| The 1990 Annual Report had 15 people listed under the heading
"Corporate Consulting Engineers". Each of the 15 had a title and
area of expertise listed along with their name. For example:
Fernando Colon-Osorio
Corporate Consultant, Information Systems Business
Of the 15, two were listed as "Senior Corporate Consultants":
Mike Riggle (Storage and Information Management) and Bill
Strecker (Architecture). I believe Dave Cutler was also a
Senior Corporate Consultant before he left Digital.

I can't dispute what his title was when you worked for him, but
his title at retirement was "Corporate Engineering Senior Consultant",
to use the official JIS jargon.

OK, so what's the job code? For that matter, what's Ken's job code?
I can't find either under VTX JIS.

I don't know the job code (or Ken's either). However, by semi-
logical extrapolation from a known job code, I would guess that the
job code is 60Ex (the "x" is either an A,B,C or D).
VTX JIS seems to be missing several job codes. I don't know what
the criteria is for having it listed there.

1621.11 | Software Engineer job codes 50Ax | SIMON::SZETO | Simon Szeto, International Sys. Eng. | Thu Oct 03 1991 23:03 | 17 |
| Before JEC, the job titles were: Software Engineer 1, Software Engineer
2, Senior Software Engineer, Principal Software Engineer, Consulting
Software Engineer, Senior Consulting Engineer, and (I think) Corporate
Consulting Engineer, Senior Corporate Consulting Engineer.
After JEC, the job titles are: Software Engineer 1, Software Engineer
2, Software Senior Engineer, Software Principal Engineer, Software
Engineering Consultant, Software Engineering Senior Consultant, and I
don't know the exact titles of the two Corporate Consultant grades
above that. Note change of usage from "Consulting" to "Consultant."
The top grade listed in JIS under Software Engineering is 50AF. I
would hazard a guess that job codes 50AG and 50AH exist but are not
listed in JIS for some reason. Or could it be that at such elevated
levels they don't make distinctions between software and hardware?

Corporate Engineering Senior Consultant is 60EB. Semi-logical
extrapolations do seem to work.

~$11 million (with bonus, stock options etc.)
Jack Smith: ~$550,000 (base salary)

If you're a stockholder, you can find that information in your proxy statement.
It still doesn't list KO's job code.
