| ELF lists people who are long since gone, so I wouldn't rely on an ELF listing
to show that someone still works here.

| I have seen a memo from D. Zereski informing that Nortz left the company
to go to work for an unnamed company.
As for Grainger, I saw him yesterday at the Digital Seniors Classic,
which doesn't say anything concrete, but I would guess that if he left
Digital, he wouldn't like to run into a lot of DEC employees that know
him and explain what happened.

Story:
MAYNARD, Mass. -DJ- Digital Equipment Corp. said a vice president, David
Grainger, who headed the company's efforts to sell computers through other
manufacturers and software producers, left.
He was the fourth Digital vice president in six weeks to announce plans to
leave his job.
Grainger, 48 years old, once headed Digital's worldwide sales and service
operations, but he was transferred last year to the more limited role in what
Digital calls "Corporate Channels."
After that move, "the joke was that Dave Grainger was in grave danger," said
Terry Shannon, president of Gander Resources, an Ashland, Mass., consulting
firm that follows Digital.
Grainger couldn't be reached for comment. A Digital spokeswoman said he
didn't disclose any new job plans but said she assumed he had "numerous
offers." A successor wasn't named.
Earlier this week, Richard A. Nortz, vice president, U.S. customer services,
went to Wang Laboratories Inc. Earlier this month James M. Osterhoff, chief
financial officer, said he plans to leave the company. And in August, Robert
Glorioso, who had held top jobs in Digital's effort to sell mainframe
computers, took a leave of absence.
"It wouldn't surprise me to see more changes at that level in the near
term," Shannon said. Digital is continuing a reorganization designed to boost
sales and cut expenditures in the face of vast changes in the computer
industry that have slashed profit margins and increased competitive pressure.
Digital has never designated a successor to founder and president Kenneth H.
Olsen, adding to speculation about its management hierarchy.
