Subj: RE: More information on ISVNet
Welcome to Digital's Independent Software Vendor Program! The ISV Group
provides services to third party software developers to assist them in
developing their applications on Digital's platform and get it to market when
complete. ISVNet is just one of the many services available to the
developers when they become a member of the ISV Program. ISVNet was
established by the ISV Group to provide technical support to its members.
It has since been expanded to include marketing information, access to The
Electronic Store and SOFTbase. In addition, Distributors and VARs are now
being recruited to participate on ISVNet. This provides both the software
vendor and the distributor with an open forum to discuss business issues
and opportunities.
One of the most popular services on ISVNet for providing technical support
and information is NOTES Conferencing. Digital employees are welcome and
encouraged to participate in these NOTES. Any employee can access NOTES
from EasyNet simply by doing an ADD ENTRY. To obtain a list of the
available conferences on ISVNet, you must use the following command:
NOTES>DIR/CONF /ALL ISVNET
The marketing brochure contains instructions on how to access what we call
a "teaser" account. This account is located on The Electronic Store and is
only a mock-up of ISVNet. However, it does provide potential users with a
feeling of what is available to them on the network. You CANNOT access ISVNet
from this account.
If you would like an ISVNet account, please send mail to Carol Mroczka
at MR4DEC::MROCZKA or ALLIN1 @MRO.
Please let me know if you need more information. The ISV Group welcomes
you to ISVNet.
Regards,
Paula Cain

I just discovered ISVNet today from a marketing brochure I saw
lying around. It looks like it has big potential, but I'm still
not quite sure what it is as I was in a hurry and I didn't want to
take what looked like the only copy left, so I scribbled down the
following information on ISVNet - can anyone here elaborate on this?
The Electronic Store (an on-line, VAX Producer-based electronic showcase
of Digital products), now provides access to something even newer called
ISVNet which promises to be even more successful. To access ISVNet,
simply use any terminal & modem (set to 8-bits per character, no parity,
on either a 1200, or 2400 baud line) and call 1-800-234-1998 between
7 AM and Midnight. Then enter the following to log in and use it:
User Account : 1-19771
Sub Account Number : 0
Password : ISVUSER
Default Set : STANDARD
...and you're in business with DEC! Check it out! All we need
now is the human element - all we need are DEC's employees noting in
ISVNet notesfiles to communicate with potential DEC customers!

p.s. I even found what looked like a notesfile or two in there,
that almost looked like a protoype of the Info-Market idea
(note #1024) complete with the ability to "Purchase" and
everything! (or did I imagine it)?
