My group is in the process of reorganizing and we're looking for some new ideas. The group's work is a combination of SW & IS development and consulting, Telecom consulting, and network design. It's a typical matrix setup; most people report to resource managers and we have a group of project managers to whom members are also responsible for a particular project. Part of the group is in Europe now and we're seeing a lot more projects where we no longer own the whole responsibility but are providing resources (both project managers and engineers) to collaborative efforts with other groups. What I'd like to hear about are: - Other organizational structures being used within Digital (especially anything oriented to distributed work teams) - How you feel about it: Is the group a better place to work? does the structure contribute to your success and the groups? What problems have you encountered and how they are resolved. Thanks for any ideas, _Mek

re .0 I seem to remember one or two seminars in about the last year or so at Spitbrook about managing cross organizational or cross geographic efforts. You might try contacting the ZKO library to see if the seminars were taped. /Peters |
