| | I don't like audio-only. People learn best by doing, not listening.
Second best is a good book, with diagrams/photographs etc. It's also a
lot easier to move around in a book, to find things via an index etc.
I generally try to avoid audio cassettes except for music.

| | My own experience with learning from the radio has been
positive. Sometimes I become so engrossed in a story on
National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" that I
stop the car when I get to my destination and listen
until the story ends. I've used the Sales Training tapes
in the car too, especially on long trips and have found
	them very useful.

| | Our library in Merrimack has quite a nice selection of audio tapes.
I started using them when our training was restricted last year.
And I continue. Nightingal/Conad[sp] is a good supplier of quality
tapes. I look for a non-moniton speaker. Tapes that were NOT reorded
in front of a live audience [poor quality, hard to listen to in
a car]. Tom Peters [In Search of Excellence, etc] is a good speaker
to listen to. Effective Thinking was a terrible tape [discouraged
religion, interferred with effective thinking! I wonder if Ken
    knew he bought this one!]

I spend 1.5 hours a day in the car. Its one good use of the time.
and you can rewind/replay/reuse the tapes to get a point in.

| | "Nightingal/Conad[sp}" is actually Nightingale/Conant. I've listened
to one of their tapes a while back, and it was quite reasonable.

| | Hi there Mai!!! (It's been a long time...)

Are you interested in learning about this from a user
or potential user perspective or from a development perspective
    or what?

Depending upon your answer, I might be able to give you a contact
    name.

What are you doing these days?

    Regards,

| | Pennie,
I'm interested in both the user perspective and the development
	of materials.
For the past few months, I've been working on an idea I had to
implement audio technology in a new learning environment. We're
about to build a prototype system and then to pilot it for six
	weeks in March and April.
I'm also researching uses of audio for training materials, toward
developing case studies and a selection tool for instructional
	designers, course developers and others.
I'll try to catch up with you by phone and provide additional
	details.
	Mai
