A nationwide survey of experts who closely monitor U.S. manufac-
turing industries reveals which are the 10 best manufacturing
companies to work for in the United States today.
Commissioned by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the
10 best places to work in manufacturing are, in alphabetical order:
Apple Computer, Inc., Cupertino, CA;
AT&T, New York, NY;
The Boeing Company, Seattle, WA;
Digital Equipment Corporation, Maynard, MA;
Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, NY;
Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, MI;
General Electric Company, Fairfield, CT;
Hewlett-Packard Company, Palo Alto, CA;
IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY; and
Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Pittsburgh, PA.

| You know as much as I do. The entire news clip was entered in 968.0.
The criteria for selection seems to have been the opinion of a set
of industry experts. I do not know Who? or How many? or what basis
of comparison was used.
The Top 10 listing is strictly alphabetical. (Apple is not necessarily
numer 1, etc.)
re. "Biting my tongue" ... see if you can find a constructive way
to phrase your reply. I'd like to hear it.
