I was a bit dissapointed in his responses. He never gave an answer to
any of the direct questions that were asked of him. To me, he seemed to
be dodging the issues. Maybe he's practicing for a career in politics!

"slim to none" category.

I think the weakness of the interviewer was one of the big problems
with this interview. Obviously Steve Young is used to interviewing other
types of CEOs on other subjects. However, I think this is a general problem
in the world of journalism.
I also liked the way he hedged on the dividend. I think his comments
on paying it when "it is right to do so" allows Digital the flexibility to
withold a dividend until we are as big as IBM. In my opionion, this will be
the only way we can stop investing at the levels we need to in order to stay
competitive and pay a dividend at the same time. He indicated our dividend
method was to buy back the stock, thus enhancing the EPS in future quarters.
I also liked his comments on how important analysts are, but that
the stock markets and related businesses are now myopically short-sighted in
how a company performs.
I sent for the transcript so I can read it more carefully.
Gee, if I had the looks, I could be a technical interviewer for
CNN...

Yes - I videotaped it. Care to borrow it ? (There's even some
other stuff on the end of the tape that has to do with X windows
and the GPX... I haven't even looked at it yet (the follow-on
stuff...)
