The Sunday Boston Globe started a three part series on the Ken Olsen Story "The ultimate Entreprenuer" (an unauthorized bio). I missed Sundays first piece but todays is all about Ed DeCastro and how he wound up leaving DEC after John Jones got a job that Ed thought he deserved and wound up working for him. It also talks about the way DeCastro left DEC and why KO is still upset about it. This all occured before my time here (I came here only 13 yrs ago). I don't know how much of the story is true but I am aware that KO still has strong feelings about this man. Tuesday is part 3 of 3 and is titled " Exit Gordon Bell ". -ph

After reading the three-part series, I can see why KO did't embrace the book or it's authors. I'm sure the Globe series only picked up on the juicy segments, but the picture the segments paint of Ken does not depic him in the best of light. Wish it pointed to more of the more positive things than the negative; however, the author's intention was to sell books and make money, as opposed to writing another success story. Jay | |||||

October 3, 1988 issue of ComputerWorld has another segment. Being involved in that activity during 1980, I believe the depiction is accurate. Joe |
