So, I will *guess*:
I suppose the gist of this collection of rumors is supposed to be
that the JEC found a bunch of overpaid and essentially useless
employees who ought to 1) lose their company cars, and 2) be offered
early retirement, to get them to leave, all in an effort to save
money, right?
I'd be real surprised if the JEC found much of anything at all,
as much as the diligent among us (me, for example) agonized over
choosing the most accurate and most politically correct verbs to
describe how we spend our time ("reading notes files while waiting
for a product build to complete so I can test it"? No, doesn't
sound anywhere near technical enough for this job!). I would guess
it will quietly sink to the depths and never be heard from again,
as a way the company spent money uselessly.
Alright, so I am feeling cynical on a Friday afternoon...

JEC was such an expensive flop, that 10,000 employees and the car
plan have to be eliminated to cover the cost of it.

Sorry,
I'll try to resist poor attempts at humor in the future. Please
note on .3 the <<< :-) >>>, an indication that the remark was
not intended as a serious comment, but a rejoinder to the topic
that the JEC and recent cost-cutting measures might somehow be related.
I have no information indicating any such connection, and considering
the emotional clime of this notesfile, perhaps an attempt at humor
was misplaced at this time.
