			1990 DIGITAL SENIOR GOLF CLASSIC
			     Volunteer Information

We, the operations committee, anticipate that this year's Classic will be more
successful than the previous years, which means we will need more of the most
important part of the tournament, "VOLUNTEERS!!!!!!!".

This year we will be using a new uniform. It will consist of a shirt and
navy blue pants for men and a navy blue golf skirt/shorts and a shirt for
women. Hats, visors and sweaters are optional. All items may be ordered on
the enclosed form. However you may wear your own navy blue pants, skirts
or golf style shorts if you prefer (please no denim/cords/jeans).

DATE: June 18-24, 1990 PLACE: Nashawtuc Country Club, Concord, MA

Volunteers will submit up to three choices for each day indicating which
functions for which they would like to volunteer during the tournament. We
will make every effort to meet your selections, however volunteers
assignments will be based on a combination of previous years tournament
experience, total number of volunteer years with this tournament, needs of
the volunteer function as well as the total number of days a person volunteers.
Individual descriptions on the next page list some of the prerequisites for
the different functions. The Walking Marshalls, Greens Reporters, Security,
and Scorers/Statistician positions require a limited number of volunteers so
experience in these positions in previous tournaments will be a prime
consideration.

This year volunteers will be given free passes to the tournament. As in the
past the volunteer can use their volunteer badge for their own personal entry
on the days they are spectators. It is imperative that all volunteers sign in
at the volunteer table on the days they are assigned to work. Also this
year in lieu of the volunteer barbcue on the last day of the tournament, A
volunteer party is being planned to occur the week prior to the tournament.
Further details on this party will follow in the volunteer confirmation/as-
signment letters from the tournament office.

update on 1990 Classic

1) Lee Trevino has committed in writing to playing, Chi-Chi, Bruce,
Sarge, Gary and most others have verbally committed - Jack Nicklaus has
only been playing events on courses he has designed - Arnie has not said
what he is doing.

2) Volunteers are still needed - we currently have Approx. 500 and need
200-300 more - we especially need marshalls.

3) We have had software problems in the tournament office and confirmation
letters haven't been sent out yet - they should be within the next week.
Assignment letters/credentials will be sent out the week of 5/25/90.

4) There will be a volunteer party at the Hillcrest in Waltham the week
   prior to the tourney.
