I only learned of the existence of this notes file recently.

I have read the first note, looking for any caveats to its use.  I
apologize for accessing it during work hours, but I have no terminal
at home, and apparently cannot readily get one, therefore I cannot
access the file at any other time.

If I am breaking any other rules, please excuse my ignorance.  I do
not want to do much reading given the network traffic issue.

My question concerns the most recent copy of DECWORLD (December issue).
On page 2 there is a long article about the company's strategies.

At the top of the third column is the following:

	Digital is educating its work force in problem-solving
	methods and statistical tools associated with improving
	quality.  By the end of 1988, 25 percent of Digital's
	worldwide work force will receive this training.

Can anyone tell me about this training?  I would be interested in such
training.  I have asked my unit manager, and he is not familiar with any
such program.

    I don't know about what DEC is doing, but my customer (duPont) sent
    me to a course based on the Juran method of Quality Improvement.
    It used statistical methods for solving the problem of cutting 
    costs associated with poor quality product.
    
    It was very informative.
