| | I sympathize with you, but "el scummo" is going to have a hard time
fencing that equipment! I suggest you contact pawn shops in Boston
and Worcester and see if any have ever taken-in computers! [And if
they have, let me know - I wanna pawn some'o'my own!]

It'll probably wind up doing spreadsheets for drug dealers!

| | As all equipment will eventually break, I would suggest contacting
Field Service. Someone will someday want the equipment repaired
and serial number are one way of tracking equipment. Working in
Field Service here in Colorado I know of a case where the Field
Engineer went to a business/house to service some piece of broken
hardware. When the person looked for the serial number and found
none on any of the equipment the Engineer had to return for a part.
At that time the proper authorities where called and additional
questions asked of the present holder of the equipment.

It's a long shot, but you asked for suggestions.
    	Regards
    	Greg

| | I would suggest contacting your insurance agent (homeowners?, Renters?)
and file a claim. Collect the money, buy a new system,
    and count your blessings.

I wish someone would steal MY system so I could get a new one.
It's good to rotate these things every so often and get
new hardware, ya know? (P.S....mine's NOT a VT180...sold that
    3 YEARS ago!)

| | IF i is a VT180 it should have been fully expensed by now.
Your CC Manager should be notified, and an insurance claim
        if appropriate, should be processed.
