381.0. "What dept -- lighting tech." by NATASH::HYATT () Wed Sep 09 1987 18:55

	I'm trying to locate the department(s) in Digital that might use
	lighting professionals (director, designer, rigger, stage manager,
	technician, etc.) for live or recorded shows/broadcasts like DECworld,
	DVN, Educational videos, whatever.

	Any leads?

	Thanks,
	Mike

    I'd start with the various phone numbers listed on page 242 of the
    July Digital telephone directory for Media Services. I believe
    that the Bedford people do the DVN while the Merrimack people do
    DTV for DECWORLD.

    A quick scan yields a "Photography Group - Corporate" with a few
    numbers including Video Services, Department Specialists, and Graphic
    Arts Specialists.

    Have you tried looking anywhere yet?

381.3Call Bedford!DELNI::OVIATTHigh BailiffThu Sep 10 1987 14:2812

    	Having worked with them, Contact the Media Services Group in
    Bedford for help with a Video/Film project. They're good at also
    pointing you at the Media Producers' group(s) in MKO and MRO. The
    Photography group at PKO seems to have more limited resources and
    relies a lot on Bedford.

    	A word of warning is needed here: make certain you have money
    budgeted for anything you want the Media Services & Producers to
    do, as they make their living off Cross Charges and it can be VERY
    expensive if you don't keep on top of it or don't know what to look
    for.
381.4Try Ken EXIT26::MAASEXIT26::STRATTONForce 10 From ProvoloneSun Sep 13 1987 11:004
        Try Ken Maas at EXIT26::MAAS, but be aware that the group
        is very heavily involved with DECworld and you may not
        get an immediate answer.
