I am looking at a list of Q4 FY87 licenses sales for a product that I work with and I find 3 U.S. sales to Digital Equipment Finance Corporation. I hadn't heard of them before, so my question is who are they and what do they do? Asking around, I'm told they lease software and equipment; but do they do anything else? For example do they write loans for equipment purchases? Also, what is their exact relationship to Digital Equipment Corporation? Are they a wholly owned subsidiary, majority owned subsidiary or what? Thanks, Bob

Bob,
DEFC (Digital Equip Financial Corp) was sold at least a year ago
to GE Leasing. As far as I know, they are srickly a leasing company
and do not write loans. I also believe that they also have the
capability to loan equipment for a monthly fee. This equipment
is probably that which was returned at the end of a lease agreement.
Bottom line is that they are not owned by Digital.

A few things I know are:
They are part of GE Capitol. They were the old Digital Leasing
Group and were sold about 18 months ago.
They still have many of the same folks involved with it's
operation.
They also are the only authorized used equipment reseller of
Digital gear. I believe the acronym is: DUSER ~ Digital used system
equipment reseller.
