278.2 | What's a-behind us is a-behind us! | ODIXIE::COLE | Jackson T. Cole | Fri Mar 06 1987 08:42 | 6 |
| I think he means near-term, not past term! And it was in October, 76
that the 3/1 was executed.
I hear that if the stock price stays above a certain level for 3
months or so, then that triggers split consideration by the Board. What that
level is is a mystery, but I hope that it is $170 or so!

Sorry, I should have stated it this way...............
Anybody hear anything about DEC announcing a 3-1 split that was
approved for the present time...........now.
Someone in the Mill said a blurb came over a VTX file that DEC had
okayed a split yesterday, to be effective at a later date.
I haven't heard anything official, that's why I asked.

278.4 | Nothing on Videotex now | VMSDEV::FISHER | Burns Fisher 381-1466, ZKO1-1/D42 | Fri Mar 06 1987 13:53 | 8 |
| I have not heard anything like that, and further, it does not seem
to be in "Corporate News" on the Livewire Videotex service.
However, when it split 2-1 the last time, the price was around 180,
wasn't it?

278.5 | I second the rumor | RHODES::WARDROP | | Fri Mar 06 1987 14:55 | 3 |
| I heard yesterday from an unofficial but knowledgeable source that
a 3/1 split is planned when the stock reaches 180. Nothing on how
long it might have to stay over 180 to trigger the split.

278.6 | Authorized 2-1 at anual mtg. | COOKIE::WITHERS | Le plus ca change... | Fri Mar 06 1987 18:08 | 8 |
| At the last stockholder's meeting, the executive committee was given
permission for a _2-for-1_ split. I believe this was to allow DIGITAL
the freedom to split the common stock if it so chose without needing
to reconvene a shareholder's meeting. That was back in Q1. When
the split will occur (if ever) has not been announced as far as
I can find.

278.7 | last time | SQM::HALLYB | Are all the good ones taken? | Sat Mar 14 1987 15:26 | 8 |
| Last time the stock split it closed at 166 on the day of the
announcement. I remember it well because the first I heard of
the split was watching the Nightly Business Report, and DEC was
the only stock "in the spotlight".
Who needs what kind of permission to generate an N-for-1 split?
