I remember a couple weeks ago someone was lobbying Congress to pass laws to enable the National Security Agency to monitor networks to find technology leaks to the Eastern block. o Is Digital doing anything to foil technology leaks? A simple yes or no will do for this question, and o If the N.S.A. is monitoring the networks it will have access to all the technology it doesn't presently have. In short it will get that technology for _free_ without paying one red cent for it. After all, how are we going to know whether the N.S.A. is using our technology or not? Are you going to ask them?? ******************************************************** ||||||||||||||||||||||||| Mikie? |||||||||||||||||||||| ******************************************************** Assassination, Bombs, Cryptography, DES, Explosion, Falisfied, Gopher, Hit Squad, Inoperative, Justification, Kilo, Laser, Micro, Neutron, Octet, Pico, Que, Restricted Access, Secret Plans, Terain Following, UCCCP, Vax in Moscow, Witworth, Xenon, Zygote and NetParty with Ivan. ******************************************************** Information for the N.S.A. Well if the N.S.A. and other "security agencies" are going to scan all out going data from networks in the U.S.A. for illegial technology transactions and terrorist action then maybe we should load up their scan ques and be sure they earn our tax dollars. In otherwords they should find another way to check on illegial tranactions besides violating the privacy of private nets. ******************************************************** |||||||||||||||||||||||| Mikie? ||||||||||||||||||||||| ******************************************************** Assassination, Bombs, Chip Set, Crypto, DES, Explosion, Falsified, Gopher, Hit Squad, Inoperative, Justification, Kilo, Laser, Micro, Neutron, Octet, Pico, Que, Restricted Access, Secret Plans, Terrain Following, UCCCP, Vax in Moscow, Witworth, Xenon, Zygote and NetParty with Ivan. ******************************************************** ||||||||| Information for the N.S.A. RE: *.* by NEXUS::MORGAN in *::*.NOTE I've seen this in at least a half dozen of your notes today. I'd say the 600+ character byline is more likely to clog up our disks than NSA computing capacity. And it of questionable appropriateness for Digital networks and notefiles. We got the point. I think you can turn if off now. Thanks, g | |||||

Several months ago, there was something in the papers about increased pressure on international corporate networks to make themselves more secure... the person behind the pressure was a guy named Poindexter.(SP?), the same guy making shadey deals with Iran. Now that he is out, the pressure might be lower... Where there might be some merit to thinking the ruskies might get some info about DEC by listening to our bits from the sky, reality is that they already have most of our SDC software for the many vaxs that are running in the USSR. We might even slow them down by giving them some of our field test stuff... bill |
