414.0. "Need a CHARMing tool" by KETJE::VANDEVYVER () Mon Apr 27 1992 16:27

    Hi,

a local customer is looking for a planning/sheduling tool (sounds
familiar?) which is constraint-based (the tool, not the customer).

In his search he came across Charme (Bull) and did like what he saw,
although the would prefer a VMS solution.

    What can we do?
I don't think we have a product comparable to Charme (do we?).

The closest thing is the Scheduler from Brigitte Guimbal.
Now, how can we sell that?
    	- as a product?
    	- as an asset?
    	- as consultancy?
    	- not at all?

    Please advise.
    Thanks

    Luc

    Yesterday? :-})

Since Brigitte will be in Belgium on 6 may for the Scheduling seminar,
we'll try to set up a meeting with the customer on the 5th (PM)
and have THE expert with us to sell the idea.

    thanks

Tom Foley of the DKAS (=SELECT) group is building a scheduling engine
with a constraint orientation; it *may* be ready soon for this kind of
project. Contact him at DTN 296-6626 or DKAS::FOLEY.
