VAX Lisp VMS & VAX Lisp Ultrix

o VAX Lisp VMS and VAX Lisp Ultrix Retire
o Replacement products are Lucid Common Lisp/VAX for VMS V4.0 and
Lucid Common Lisp/VAX Ultrix V4.0
o Migration plan available
VAX Lisp VMS and VAX Lisp Ultrix are being retired. All SPS customers will
be notified of the retirement during November 1991. Licenses and H-kits will
be placed in DSPS Maintenance Mode on December 19,1991. Service part numbers
will also be placed in DSPS Maintenance mode on DATE. Remedial support for
VAX LISP will be provided through the Customer Support Centers in accordance
with the provisions of Digital maintenance contracts. As contracts expire
Software Product Services will no longer be available for the VAX LISP products.
MIGRATION
A Migration Plan for VAX Lisp customers will be implemented. Customer letters
will be mailed to the in-service and non-service customers on a worldwide
basis explaining the retirement of the Digital VAX Lisp products and offering
the replacement products of the Lucid Common Lisp product. Appropriate
Migration Q-numbers have been assigned to the migration plan and will be
monitored. These Q-numbers will not be published in the price book but will be
up on the AQS system.
VAX LISP VMS:
o Digital recommends that existing customers consider the alternative
product, Lucid Common Lisp/VAX for VMS V4.0 at the time of service
contract renewal. Lucid Common Lisp/VAX for VMS V4.0 is available.
o An option to purchase a license for the Lucid Common Lisp/VAX for
VMS V4.0 at a discounted price of $2,000 will be offered. This
offer requires the purchase of QL-XZLAA-** or a personal use license
QL-XZLAA-2B which will be available for up to six months of this
announcement date.
VAX LISP Ultrix:
o An option to purchase a license for the Lucid Common Lisp/Ultrix
for VAX V4.0 at a discounted price of $2,000 will be offered. This
offer requires the purchase of QL-XZPA*-** or a personal use license
QL-XZPAA-2B which will be available for up to six months of product
release which is scheduled in January 1992.
Digital will provide worldwide SPS services for the Lucid Common Lisp/VAX for
VMS V4.0 and the Lucid Common Lisp/Ultrix for VAX V4.0 products. Service
contracts for the Lucid Lisp VMS and Lucid Lisp Ultrix for VAX products will
not be discounted; the order numbers are:
QT-XVJAA-** Lucid Common Lisp/VAX for VMS V4.0
QT-XZKAA-** Lucid Common Lisp/Ultrix for VAX V4.0

| Just to complete the story, I obtained the lucid s/w, PAK and the
blessing of product management and shipped Harlequin a kit via the
Newmarket office. They don't have account management or a UK contact
so it looks like de-facto I'm their DEC service contact for the time
being!
