Anybody knows about expert systems in the area of transhipment?
Objects: ships, containers, cranes, quayage, wharfage, quayporters,
service-windows (in time); data will be available from Rdb-databases.
Aspects: constraints-scheduling, optimization (shortest time, no idle
people, customer (shipowner) satisfaction).
User-interface: simple graphic screen with ship approaching quay,
time-scale, few cranes, groups of porters; click on any subject will
give its atributes/values/constraints and available resources. System
will be advisory only (people will make the decisions).
Typical ES-aspect: few old experienced people who do the scheduling now
and will retire soon.
Any hints, advice, pointers will be highly appreciated,
Hans de Hartog

| Hi Hans,
I'm not 100% shure, but maybe it's woth for you to check :
I think CAST (you now Cast Cuts Cost) has a system to do the container
tracking and sheduling. I think they even sell it.
But as I said ... not 100%
