Subject: "Strategic AI" presentation
I recently put together a presentation on the strategic value of AI. You can get a
copy of it from:
BIGRED::STRATEGIC-AI.PS
I've not had time to put a script together for it, yet, but you should be able to
figure most of it out.
The only thing I think needs further clarification is the chart on Slide 10. It
shows the results of a study by a trade & industry association in Brittain on the
relationship between cost of developing solutions and the technology used to solve
problems. The chart shows that AI techniques have the cost advantage in the low
end (through PC shells) because the learning curve and infrastructure needed to
generate solutions is much less that with traditional MIS solutions. The chart
also shows that AI has the advantage at the high end because the complexity of
the solution grows more slowly (using inference & search) than with conventional
techniques (e.g., nested IF-THEN-ELSE statements).
Enjoy!
