Knowledge Based Technologies Training from the leader .... DIGITAL
Digital Equipment Corporation is the world leader in the development and
commercial application of Knowledge Based Systems - powerful computer
programs that use Artificial Intelligence tools and techniques to apply
expert knowledge and judgment to the solution of difficult business problems.
At DEC, and at other corporations around the world, expert knowledge is now
recognized as a major corporate asset. Accordingly, the need for people
skilled in the development and implementation of Knowledge Based Systems is
growing.
In response, DEC now offers an intensive 1 month training program in Knowledge
Engineering at Sophia Antipolis, France.
The DIGITAL Intensive Program in Knowledge Engineering
September 23 - October 18 1991
The primary goal of the DIGITAL Intensive Knowledge Engineering Program
is for participants to develop a small prototype Knowledge Based
System and to gain some of the skills required to extend an implement it.
The prototype will address a real business problem from the participant's own
company.
The first two weeks of the program will be spent in learning necessary
technical skills. The final two weeks will be dedicated primarily to developing
the prototype application. An experienced DEC Knowledge Engineer will guide
participants during development of the prototype. .
The Program is intended for individuals or small teams of project developers
who can bring a defined project to the program. Individuals who would like
to participate, but do not have a real project, can work on an sample
project provided by DEC.
The program requires attendance at both day and evening instruction and
workshops.
Participants should have some experience in software engineering or
programming in conventional languages. Consultation with a DEC Knowledge
Engineer is required before a project is accepted into the program.
The faculty is comprised of professionals from Digital's world-wide Artificial
Intelligence community. Also, distinguished experts from universities and
other consulting organizations participate in delivering the program.
