Subj:	ALPHA VMS reaches first login on RISC hardware!

				ALPHA VMS LIVES!!!

	This is the shout heard round the company this morning with
	the announcement that the Alpha/VMS teamed reached its first login
	on RISC hardware last night at 12:30.  This is a full quarter
	ahead of schedule!  The project is under the leadership of
	Project Manager Vince Orgovan and Technical Director 
	Nancy Kronenberg.  Clair Grant is Login-Debug Co-ordinator.

	Congratulations to them and the whole team for all the hard
	work that went into achieving this important milestone.  
	Acknowledgements also go to Ted Equi and his ADU team for the
	exceptional hardware support he has provided, to Maurice Marks
        and his team for simulator support where a large share of the
        debugging took place, and to SDT for runtime library, compiler,
	and tool support.
