Syntelligence Inc. of california, designed to assist loans
officers , credit officers, and Bank Mgrs in making quick and
consistent evaluations of Commerical borrowers. The KB can be
tailored to suit the rules of the particular establishment
which decieds to implement its use.
Users include Australia New Zealand banking Group; Integra
Finance Corp., Pittsburgh, Penn.; Security Pacific Bank,
Washington; Wachovia bank & trust, Winston-Salem, N. Carolina;
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), Toronto, Canada.
CIBC began installation in 1987 with completion of
implementation scheduled for mid 1990. Response from bank
officers has been positive. Results have included time saved,
\ greater consistency and accruacy in the screening process, more
time available to deal with the customer.
The CIBC implementation has over 1200 users in 80 Bank offices
throughout the country.

Provides conclusiions plus a printed checklist of points which

Bank offices identify 20% increase in business from overseas
customers due to the use of the application.

Description : Advises mid-sized Mfg companies on how to increase revenue. The
application identifies problems causing low revenue and
suggests remedial action.
The application applies a variety of analytical methods to the
data acquired from the user. It then generates a 100 page
report, including charts and graphs, detailing the findings.
Additional information is obtained from Industry and Market
databases.
The goal of the application was to reduce cost of bank staff
time in providing smaller companies with business consutlancy,
a goal whihc is belived to have been met since it saves
about 200k$ a year.
Application currently has approx. 70 users.

Name : Manager's Broker Monitor System.
User : Bear, Sterns & Co - Discretionary Investment activity.
Description : Branch Managers are expecetd to monitor discretionary investment
activity performed by Brokers, i.e. they have "discretionary
powers" of use of customer cash to make investments on behalf
of the customer without asking customer permission for each
action taken. It is the responsibility of each Brnach manager
to ensure that each Brokers activity is within compliance
guidelines.
The application maintains a profile of each Brokers activity
and can idebntify items a "Compliance Manager" may look for.
The monthly workload on the branch manager is reduced by PC
access to the application summary of Broker activity - a
workload which would typically involve the monitoring of,
20k discretionary activities per month, per branch
The application was developed with the co-operation of
Coopers and Lybrands.
