Subj:	Request for IAAI papers - As discussed at AITC staff on 10 December 1990
-To be sent to AITC list through IS operator

The AITC Staff would like to encourage everyone in the AITC to consider
submitting appropriate papers for the Inovative Applications of Artificial
Intelligence (IAAI) Conference which will be held in Anaheim, CA next summer.

As those of you who are members of AAAI are aware, AAAI91 will be held in
conjunction with IAAI this year. The Dates are:

AAAI-91: July 14-19
IAAI-91: July 15-17
Joint Conference at Anaheim Convention Center: July 16-18

Last year, two papers were accepted from Digital:

"National Dispatch Router" was presented by Janet Rothstein, and "Case Based
Reasoning" was presented by Evangelos Simoudis.

This year, as well as papers on Digital applications, we're also encouraging
papers on customer applications that we developed solely or jointly. Chester
Bowles has already sent letters to our Fellowship partners recommending their
participation. Digital authors whose papers are accepted will present at the
conference at Digital's expense.

Authors should submit papers that highlight any area of AI technology.
However, only deployed applications will be considered. Five hardcopies of
each paper must be received by January 18, 1991 and mailed to:

	IAAI91
	AAAI
	455 Burgess Drive
	Menlo Park, CA 94025-3496.

All papers will be reviewed by the Conference Programs Committee on February 23
and notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the author by
March 1. All suuccessful authors will receive the Annual Innovative
Application Award and highlighted in AI Magazine.

Beyond the personal satisfaction received from presenting papers at this
conference, this will also provide another opportunity to showcase Digital's
continued leadership in implementing successful knowledge-based solutions.

Further information is available on AAAI91 in both AITC libraries in LM02 and
DLB5.
