Subject: AI Program Appointments
In support of our increased role in customer activities,
I'm happy to make the following two announcements regarding
the European AI Programs Office.
Pat Roach has been appointed
European AI Program Development Manager
effective immediately. Pat will be part of the AI Programs
Office located in Sophia Antipolis and have a number of
responsibilities. These include working closely with Account
Teams to aid them in understanding and exploiting the
differentiation that DEC's AI experience offers in developing
their accounts. In addition, Pat will work with Marketing groups
to ensure that the programs developed by the Program Office are in
line with the needs of the customers. Pat will be the focal point
within the organisation for marketing type activities.
Prior to joining Digital, Pat was an electronics technician and
instructor in the U.S. Navy, and an instrumentation engineer at
a nuclear research firm. Since joining Digital in 1979 Pat was a
hardware course developer and has worked full-time in the area
of AI with customers since 1984. He has been located in Europe
for the past three years.
Malcolm Reid has been appointed
European AI Fellowship and Training Manager
effective immediately. Malcolm will be part of the AI
Programs Office located in Sophia Antipolis and manage
the European AI Fellowship Program and AI Training Program.
He will work closely with Account Teams and customers to plan
participation in these programs. Malcolm will also work with
Educational Services and the Corporate AI Technology Center in
Marlboro. Please see separate announcements of the two Programs.
Prior to joining Digital in 1979, Malcolm was an educational media
specialist for a public school system in Massachusetts. He has
a Master's Degree in Educational Media and Technology from Boston
University. Since joining Digital, Malcolm worked for Educational
Services for five years, was the Corporate AI Training Program
Manager, and most recently was a project manager for the
Manufacturing 95 Program. Malcolm has been located in Valbonne
since December 1989.
Please join me in wishing Pat and Malcolm continued success.
