211.0. "AI FORUM" by YIPPEE::MCGREGOR () Tue Jul 17 1990 10:22

    As you have probably realised, due to DECworld, there will be no AI
    Forum or Competency Circle Meeting until after the "New Technologies"
    Customer Seminar in October.

    What form should the next meeting take, and what subjects should be
    covered? From the note on the customer seminar, perhaps a workshop on SW
    development methodologies would be appropriate.

    Comments about the next AI FORUM?

211.1Internal tech. transferYIPPEE::MCGREGORWed Jul 18 1990 12:109
    As we are considering bringing over US people who have expertise in
    Imaging (e.g character recognition), and Machine Learning (e.g. Info.
    Retrieval and use of Excalabar products) for the CUSTOMER SEMINAR, it
    would be good to have an INTERNAL session either directly before or
    after the customer session. This way, we would be ready to immediately
    meet the demand generated by the customer seminar.

211.2same material for AI-forumGYPSC::BADEMon Aug 06 1990 11:4522
    George,

    this is an excellent idea. We have discussed the customer seminar on
    our recent german AI competence circle (August 3rd). Opinions were:

        (1) The same seminar for internal participants in VBO (80%)
        (2) The same seminar in the countries (5%)
        (3) Just the seminar materials (papermail) (15%)

    So let us be efficient and have the same seminar as an AI-forum,
    complemented by an AI-CC just before or after the customer event.
    For the deadline, however, there is a big problem: holidays have
    just started in GY and our sales representatives will hardly reach
    customer before mid of september.

   other topics for discussion, and we will make every attempt to meet your
   requests. There have already been some comments which will be taken into

    Let's re-think if we don't want to do something active on methods in
    our Forum. PLS refer to the methodologies note .4
