	We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ed ORCIUCH as


		European AI Programs Manager 


	effective 15-June-1990.  Ed will be responsible for the Manufacturing
AI programs and directly manage the MFG AI engineers in Valbonne. The 
intent is to integrate the MFG AI engineers into the EIC in one year.He will
also manage the Corporate AI programs into Europe as well as those Corporate
resources posted in Valbonne, namely AI Fellowship Program, AI External
Research, and AI training development. 

	Ed will report to Dennis for Corporate Programs and External 
Research, as well as Dennis for home country management. Ed will 
report as well to Peter Cook for the European Manufacturing 
activities, and to Carl for European Field activities and host country
manager.


	Before joining Digital in 1980, Ed  was a mathematics teacher
in Massachusetts and has BS degree in Mathematics from Worcester State
College. He spent 1 year at Carnegie Mellon University working with
Allen Newell and Herb Simon who are some of the founding fathers of
AI.
