    You should contact Henri Mercier in Paris. Henri followed the network
    security project that Mr Pham, from Thomson, did in the US during
    his AI Fellowship period (I believe it was at the same time as the
    AGIP fellow).

    Dario,

    XSAFE has been made available in the U.S. as part of "Secure Services".
    I think the arrangement is that customers are offered security audits
    and other services which use XSAFE and other software tools, but with-
    out actually selling or licensing the tools to the customer.

    If this is of interest to you (or to others in Europe), I'll try to
    find out more about European arrangements for these services and tools.

142.3How about Barklays?HERON::ROACHTANSTAAFL !Thu Oct 19 1989 15:454
    I would think that the work that Mark did at Barkley's might fit under
    this heading also.

    re: .4: An interesting idea, Henri! I can see that you will have a
    wonderful career in computer security ahead of you...

    Actually, Barclays has now decided to publicize the compliance project
    we did with them. They've referred to it in the Financial Times, and
    it may be included as part of a book on expert systems. We are working
    on gettting this made into a "Sucess Story" Digital brochure, but the
    plans are not definite yet.

    Another security idea is signature recognition, as implemented with
    PAMS (Parallel Associative Memory). A description or demo may be
    available; a contact in the U.S. is Ruby Li in the Machine Learning
    Group; she's at BUFFER::LI.

    Along the same lines, Excalibur, a third party in the U.S. produces
    pattern recognition products (vision, text, time series, etc.) on DEC
    hardware which could be used for security applications. I'll be
    contacting the U.S. to find out the current status of our relationship,
    and I'll post the result here.

    Please let me know if I can help with any of this.

    						Regards,

142.6PAM demo availableHERON::ROACHTANSTAAFL !Tue Nov 21 1989 09:427
    I saw a PAM demo in the US a couple of weeks ago that learned to
    recognize hand written letters that you taught it. Nice little package
    that is best used with the PEN option but can be done with a mouse. I
    will try and have it up and running prior to our next forum so that we
    can all get a feel for it.
