62.0. "Status of Rebel (financial demo)" by LARVAE::TURNER (Mark Turner * DTN 849-3429 * SPYDER::TURNER) Tue Jan 24 1989 17:57
Those of you who attended the recent AI Forum will have seen a demo
called REBEL, which gave advice about retail bank loans. It included
some cross-selling, e.g. recommending insurance with loans. This Note
is to clarify the status of REBEL.
The software is being developed for the U.S. by Dave Wickert of the
Princeton office of Software Services, which has sponsored all of the
development cost and thus owns the software. The demo we saw was a very
early and rough version; the "real" version will be DECWindows-based.
The software is not now available for any customer demo or project work.
There is a set of overhead slides describing the software. This is
available to anyone for internal use; contact me or Dave directly. Anyone
who wishes to do a customer presentation with this material needs to get
clearance from Dave; this is mainly to set expectations properly.
As many of you realize, financial demos often need to be customized in
order to get the best reaction in a particular country. If anyone is
seriously interested in doing a country-specific version of this system,
Dave will consider working with you, as long as his SWS office can get the
code you generate. Please contact me (Mark) or Dave if you'd like to
pursue this; it could be worthwhile for your country or DCC/ACT.
