ECO type Code: 5	Category: Hardware	EMC Req.: No
FS Affected : Yes	FCO Req.: No LOU Code: -
	 Where Used : VAXcluster
	-----------------------------------------------------------------
PROBLEM 1. The document does not explicitly define "minimum
			acceptable revision level".
		     2. The current "K" revision of the RM document does
			not reflect the latest changes.
		     3. VAX6300, DESQA, uVAX 3300/3400, uVAX 3800/3900,
			VAXstation/VAXserver 3100, RA90, SA70, SA650, TA90
			and HSC40 must be added.
		     4. VAXcluster Console System changed part numbers.
		     5. Split CIBCI into Scorpio version and Nautilus version.
		     6. out of date revisions shown for the following items:
			VAX11/750, BE-T204?-ME, AST213?-ME, AS-T215?-DE,
			AS-T216?-ME, AS-T793?-ME, BB-FI16?-DE, BC-FI17?-ME,
			BC-FI18?-DE, BL-FG81?-ME, BB-FG87?-DE, BL-FG79?-ME,
			BL-FG80?-ME, BT-ZMAAD-C3, ZM920-C3, VAX8830/40,
			AQ-FJ79?-DE, AQ-FJ80?-ME, CIBCI, BL-FJ11?-ME,
DEBNA, DEUNA, DELQA, DEQNA, DESVA, RA70, TA81, HSC50,
			HSC70, and VAX/VMS.
CORRECTION 1. Define "minimum acceptable revision level" in L1
			description.
		     2. Update RM document per continuation sheets to rev L.
		     3. Add above listed to RM per continuation sheets.
		     4. Add new part numbers and create note for changes.
		     5. Add information to continuation sheets.
		     6. Update revisions for items listed above.
	-----------------------------------------------------------------
	 BREAK-IN/EFFECTIVITY: Document Change Only
	-----------------------------------------------------------------
QUICK CHECK: Look for revision "L" on K-RM-CLUSTER-V-0 document,
VAXCLUSTER release "L1" on sheet 4 of 26.

Revision levels listed in this document are minimum
acceptable revisions for products to FUNCTION RELIABLY
in a VAXcluster environment under the currently listed
version of VMS. These revision levels do not
NECESSARILY reflect the minimum ship level from any
manufacturing, repair or logistics stockroom, or the
		LATEST ECO revisions from engineering.

The L1 VAXcluster Revision permits the addition of
the VAX63x0 family of CPUs, the uVAX 3300/3400 and
		uVAX 3800/3900 CPUs, the VAXstation/VAXserver 3100,
the DESQA ethernet adaptor, the HSC40 intelligent
storage server, the RA90, SA70, and SA650 storage
systems, and the TA90 tape drive.

In addition, the following requirements should be met:

o The VAX 11/782 must be separated into two
VAX 11/780 systems for operation with VMS version
5.x The VAX 11/782 can no longer be supported as
a multiprocessor configuration in a VAXcluster
where other CPUs will be running VMS 5.x.

o As with the VAX 897x, 8842, and 3602 systems, the
VAX 6312 and VAX 6333 systems are not specifically
tracked in the Revision Matrix as products because
the individual hardware and software components which
make up the VAX 6312, VAX 6333, VAX 3602, VAX 8974,
VAX 8978, and VAX 8842 are included in the matrix.

o The folowing CPU's can be included in a VAXCluster
		    system connected using the Ethernet:

			uVAX 2000	VAXstation 2000
			uVAX II VAXstation II
			uVAX 3x00	VAXstation 3xxx
			VAXstation 8000

| GENERAL INFORMATION: |
| |
| It is recommended that customers upgrade their VAXcluster systems to |
| the latest revision as soon as practical and over as short a period |
| of time as possible. The reason for this is that although we have |
| attempted to maintain a VAXcluster systems functionality integrity |
| during upgrades, it cannot be guaranteed in all cases. |
| |
| |
| NOTE: |
| |
| A ? shown in a part number indicates that the field should contain the |
| 'alpha' shown in the appropriate revision column. |
| For example, on Page 5, the part number AS-T213?-ME |
| is AS-T213P-ME under revision column K1. |
| |
| |
| A * in a item number indicates that any character in this |
| position that matches ........... part number is covered |
| by the indicated revision. |

| Release REV L1 | ------------------------------ |
| May 22, 1989 | |
| | Revision levels listed in this document are minimum |
| | acceptable revisions for products to FUNCTION RELIABLY |
| | in a VAXcluster environment under the currently listed |
| | version of VMS. These revision levels do not |
| | NECESSARILY reflect the minimum ship level from any |
| | manufacturing, repair or logistics stockroom, or the |
| | LATEST ECO revisions from engineering. |
| | |
| | The L1 VAXcluster Revision permits the addition of |
| | the VAX63x0 family of CPUs, the uVAX 3300/3400 and |
| | uVAX 3800/3900 CPUs, the VAXstation/VAXserver 3100, |
| | the DESQA ethernet adaptor, the HSC40 intelligent |
| | storage server, the RA90, SA70, and SA650 storage |
| | systems, and the TA90 tape drive. |
| | |
| | In addition, the following requirements should be met: |
| | |
| | o The VAX 11/782 must be separated into two |
| | VAX 11/780 systems for operation with VMS version |
| | 5.x The VAX 11/782 can no longer be supported as |
| | a multiprocessor configuration in a VAXcluster |
| | where other CPUs will be running VMS 5.x. |
| | |
| | o As with the VAX 897x, 8842, and 3602 systems, the |
| | VAX 6312 and VAX 6333 systems are not specifically |
| | tracked in the Revision Matrix as a product because |
| | the individual hardware and software components which|
| | make up the VAX 6312, VAX 6333, VAX 3602, VAX 8974, |
| | VAX 8978, and VAX 8842 are included in the matrix. |
| | |
| | o The folowing CPU's can be included in a VAXCluster |
| | system connected using the Ethernet: |
| | |

| Release REV K1 | ------------------------------ |
| July 20, 1988 | |
| | The K1 VAXcluster Revision permits the addition of |
| | the VAX62x0 and VAX88x0 families of CPUs, uVAX II |
| | and uVAX 3000 Q-bus families of LAVc systems, CISCE |
| | and CINLE CI expansion options, the RA70 and SA600 |
| | disk drives and the CIBCA-B adaptor. |
| | |
| | In addition, the following requirements should be met: |

| | o The VAX 11/782 must be separated into two |
| | VAX 11/780 systems for operation with VMS version |
| | 5.0 The VAX 11/782 can no longer be supported as |
| | a multiprocessor configuration in a VAXcluster |
| | where other CPUs will be running VMS 5.0. |
| | |
| | o As with the VAX 897x systems, the VAX 8842 and |
| | VAX 3602 systems are not specifically tracked in |
| | the Revision Matrix as a product because the |

| | It is essential that customers upgrade their VAXcluster|
| | to the latest revision as soon as possible. We recognize|
| | that some customers may have to run mixed revisions |
| | while they work to one revision across all VAXcluster |

| | Newer revisions of the CI750 and CI780 uCODE are also |
| | available in this same time frame. These newer |
| | versions are not required by cluster revision E1 but |
