58.0. "VT320 HANGS" by KERNEL::JAMES (Alan James CSC Basingstoke) Sat Jul 29 1989 20:42
The VT320 terminal hangs up when when it encounters the hex
characters 13, 9D (OSC), 9E (PM) and 9F (APC).
The 13 appears to hang the keyboard whilst the others actually
stop any output on the screen.
A method of getting round the stopping of output is to put
the terminal into 7 bit mode :-
$ set term/noeightbit
Terminal General Setup set to VT300 Mode, 7 bit controls.
Terminal Comms Setup set to 7 bits, space parity, 2 stop bits.
This solution may not be perfect. If anyone can improve on it
please pass the information around. (There is a file called Chars.txt
in rdc$common that has all characters in it as well as their ascii
equivalent if anyone wants to experiment.)
