26.1 | but there is a TCD notes file :-) | KERNEL::PETTET | Norm Pettet CSC Basingstoke | Tue Apr 18 1989 14:46 | 9 |
| Richard,
There is a TCD notes file KERNEL::UK_TCD discussing TCD issues.
I suggest you rename the topic TCD within the CSG
Cheers...Norm

| Yes Norman, I am aware of the existance of a NOTESFILE, but this
notesfile is only accessible by the CSG group, & a few others
ie member only, so by default it is dealing with issues within
the CSG.

| So when is TCD to be implemented with the CSG? What is the holdup?
Is it to our advantage? What do people feel about it?
As we do a different job from the field, should we implement TCD
at all? Should we devise our own method of technical ability?

Richard,
It is true that we do a somewhat different job to the field in
some ways, and you will find that there will be TCD "Job Profiles"
unique to Field engineers and "Job Profiles" unique to Remote
Services engineers. The actual study guides will be the same, for
specific topics against which either engineer will be assessed.
Bearing the above in mind, you will find that most of our engineers
are performing at a higher TCD level, than their current job level
would indicate. To do them justice, we need to get our people through
the TCD process at their "correct" level ASAP.
There will be more on this subject, very soon from Garry, so I'll
say no more for now.
- Brian.

Just a quick "note" for further info on TCD.
I had a chat with Mervyn, this morning and our implementation of
TCD came up in the conversation.
Mervyn has asked that any TCD notes are entered in the specific
TCD notes file, as well as, or instead of, being entered here.
