795.0. "anyone seen this yet?" by SUBSYS::MSOUCY (MentalmETALMike) Fri May 16 1997 11:37
Hi, I didn't see a note pertaining to my question I have here with LSM
and AdvFS filesets using Concatenating disks.
I am running an ASE cluster (2 node homogenous, AS2100's) on KZPBA-DB
modules (dual channel UltraSCSI F20 Differential) and I am doing some
testing for driver qualification/board qualification under ASE and I
was curious as to why when checking the status of the NFS service I
have configured (and while configuring it) that it's showing the
smaller of the two disks first in order, ie my rack is BA356 with
RZ1CB-CA 4Gb in slot 0, then 3 RZ1BB-CA 2Gb, then the remaining 4Gb
RZ1CB-CA in slots 4 and 5. When showing status or while configuring the
service the drives were listed as rz11c, rz8c. Is this because it is a
concatentated volume with 2 different size disks? I am curious as when
I pull the 4Gb drive after mounting the service and copying a file to
that mount point the process completes without crashing the node the
service is running on, but if I reverse this process and pull the 2Gb
disk (rz11c) the node providing the service crashes with an AdvFS
panic. There is someone looking at this in ZK for a possible driver
issue.
I'd appreciate an email on this also so I can forward it to the person
who is supporting me in ZK can see this also. Or I'll extract it and
mail it to him.
Thanks in advance.
Mike
