hi folks, we have configured an AS4000 to have mirrored OS disks. this has been done using the volrootmir command after the required encapsulation procedures. On REBOOTING the system (with the mirrored OS disks) the root file system does not get mounted . Some /tmp/shXXX files cannot be created etc. To sum it up, the volume is not started. Has anyone faced this problem before. We need a solution to this urgently as we have to run a benchmark tomorrow and need to incorporate mirroring of OS disk. Thanx in advance for your inputs. Regards Sudhir. Digital Technical Support India.

Did you let volrootmit the time to make a whole copy of the volumes? Did you change the BOOTDEF_DEV console variable to include the list of your TWO boot devices (DKA0,DKB0) Is your /tmp directory not changed to a symbolic link ? Did you not forget to mirror /usr (and maybe /var) ? Can you be more accurate ? Manu. | |||||

What version of the OS are you running? Please provide a complete transcript of the failed boot. |
